Tim and Tessa.jpgMeet Tessa, the cuddly Shih Tzu of Sutherland SALT’s Tim Gustafson and his wife, Emily. Twelve-year-old Tessa has lived quite an exciting life. After whisking her (and Tim’s wife, to whom Tessa belonged) away from Bakersfield, California, Tim smuggled the pup – ironically – into Amsterdam and transported her to the southernmost part of the Kingdom

Jack Pet of the Month 1.jpgMeet Maximus (Max, pictured below) and Elphaba (Elphie, pictured here with Jack), the lovable cats of Sutherland SALT’s Jack Trachtenberg.

Max likes to think that his size makes him tough, as he walks around like the tough cat in the house, but as soon as visitors come to the door, he scrambles for cover

Todd and Cooper.jpgMeet Cooper, the three-year-old Labradoodle of Washington, D.C. SALT Partner Todd Lard and his partner, Brian. Cooper lives in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of D.C., and his biggest claim to fame (and Todd’s greatest life accomplishment to date) was being named “Best Dog” in the annual pet photo contest in his neighborhood paper, The Hill Rag

Stephanie and Dogs.jpgMeet Abby and Olive, the adorable Boston Terrier “children” of Sutherland SALT administrative assistant Stephanie Fulps and her husband, Jason. However, her desire for a furry companion outweighed her love of a spotless space after befriending her law school roommate’s black

Dom & Carley.jpgMeet Dom, the newest rescue pet of Sacramento partner Carley Roberts and her husband, Jeremy. You may remember the Roberts’ other pets, which were featured as Pet of the Month in March and in our April Fool’s edition of the SALT Shaker

Carley recently was heading home from work late in the evening, and as she entered the freeway, she came upon a large, Pit Bull-ish looking dog running at top speed in the lanes of traffic. Cars were whizzing by him without a care, so Carley rolled down her window, pulled to the side of him, and began talking to the clearly scared pup, hoping he might slow his stride. As the dog, who is now known as Dom, began slowing down, Carley swerved to protect him as another car impatiently tried to cut around her. She then drove ahead of Dom, continuing to swerve back and forth until all traffic was at a standstill. Once at a stop in the road, Carley opened her doors and encouraged Dom to hop in. As he approached, he stopped about 10 feet in front of her, lowered his head, and stared, showing no trace of emotion. Now eye-to-eye with what was clearly a 100-plus pound Pit Bull, for a split second Carley questioned the wisdom of her judgment, but knew she was doing the right thing and continued to sweetly encourage Dom to jump in her car. Thankfully he did, hopping into the driver’s seat and then into the backseat. Continue Reading SALT Pet of the Month: Dom

Precious2.JPGMeet Precious Mackey (a/k/a Ms. P), who weighs in at 14 pounds of pure cattitude! Precious is not so fond of humans, having little use for anyone except her owner, Washington SALT secretary extraordinaire Kerrie Mackey, who is allowed to feed, brush, and occasionally rub Ms. P’s ears. But do not even think about carrying

A true couch potato

Calvin and Maggie.jpgMeet Calvin and Maggie, the playful new kittens of Sutherland Client & Practice Development Manager Katie O’Brien and her boyfriend, Scott. It has been just five days since the four-month-old pair was adopted from the Atlanta Humane Society, but they are already Sutherland SALT’s biggest fans: while Mom and Dad are away at work, the kittens&rsquo
